About Me
Hi, my name’s Jake, I’m a full stack web developer with over 7 years experience, based in the Philippines. I am currently working for RCG Global Services as an IT Consultant and my current project is on Walt Disney.
I enjoy making clean and interactive UI that is quick and easy to use whilst also giving users an enjoyable experience. I have worked with a range of different languages and frameworks and I am always looking for opportunities to work with something new. The things that I currently have the most experience working with are: ES6 Javascript, Angular & NodeJS, PHP5/7, MySQL & MongoDB, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, SASS/LESS, git and AWS services.
As well as making web apps I also have experience in administering linux servers, and creating hybrid mobile and desktop apps, managing and leading a team of front-end developers.
Experience
RCG brings focused expertise to affect business change, enable digital transformation, and deliver measured value and impact.
I am currently working at RCG Global Services as an IT Consultant and my current projects are from The Walt Disney Company. Being a full stack engineer with Disney, I’m focused mostly on the front end of Disney’s e-commerce website dealing with their different theme parks globally. Working as part of a scrum team consisting of 4 developers, 2 testers, PO/BA, Tech Lead and Managers I have the opportunity to help drive the team towards and work with the PO defining what we are building.
I spend most of my time working on a specific area of a large application that our team take ownership over. The front end is an Angular, Polymer app that talks to an API built using a collection of Java and NodeJS microservices. I have spent time working in multiple parts of the stack including helping to define our front end architecture to follow best practices to implementing single page application on both desktop and mobile web browsers. Responsible for working on a large scale projects particularly on Web Applications.
I enjoy learning about all areas of our application which allows me to be a go-to person for knowledge and queries within my team and the other teams in the office. I am always looking to suggest improvements and challenge what and how we are working to make sure we are delivering the best service to the customers while also developing to the highest standards.

February 2016 - June 2017
From our humble beginning in 1987, Zone Laser Tag has become the oldest and largest manufacturer and supplier of indoor laser tag systems. Known by different names, *Zone* is the one that has always stuck. Players know us as Zone 3, Laserzone, Darkzone, Megazone, Ultrazone and many more. As a company we’ve never forced people to take our name, instead letting our products do the talking.
While working at ZLSS, I was able to work on a small number of projects ranging from real-time web based leaderboard to web based kiosks. I enjoy being able to work together with the company’s owners. At ZLSS, I was also given the opportunity to work with all of my core skills and to gain new skills in things such as AngularJS & NodeJs, Symfony, SVN. I also improved my proficiency with AWS Services and RESTful APIs.
